Why ChatGPT Is Changing the Way We Use AI Every Day

A growing number of people are relying on various forms of AI - and some use it every day. I am one of them.

ChatGPT is so good - and we aren’t even close to what it will eventually reveal in the coming weeks, months, and years.

It is like having the smartest friend with the best memory, to bounce ideas off of and recite better ways to say things. I initially thought it would be incapable of creativity but I feel that opinion slipping away.

It can generate lists, look up facts, rewrite SEO descriptions to fit between 150 and 160 characters - and if it gives you too few and you call it out it will politely tell you that you are correct! 🤣

Recently, I was messing around with it and put in an old photo of my brother, my sister, my cousin, and myself.

Three Maxwell kids, one pointere, standing outside in the summer and posing for a photo.

At first there were just requests to put headphones on individual people:

An AI regeneration of Cody Maxwell with headphones on, pulled from an old photo.

Which actually turned out really good! The faces were not exact - although this was a blurry image that I uploaded.

An AI regeneration of my cousin, with headphones added, pulled from an old photo.

Next I asked it to put headphones on everyone and this is what it returned:

All four kids regenerated with AI and with headphones added to their heads.

The faces are a little weird but the detail on the clothing is phenomenal. Stripes, leggings, shoes, and “Mermaid” embroidered across my sister’s shirt is crazy. Now that I look at it - it didn’t quite get “Jordan” on my brother’s shirt but the number “23” remains.

Next, searching my brain for another prompt, I asked it to make these 4 into “Simpsons” characters, which it returned VERY QUICKLY:

Another AI regeneration of an old photo, this time with a request to recreate as "Simpsons" characters.

And finally, I prompted the AI with “remove the headphones and Simpsons request, and instead make it look like the 4 kids are from the year 1922”:

The final request from AI - asking to recreate the photo of 4 kids to make it appear the image was taken in the year 1922.

That shit is wack.

We are in the infancy of language-learning models, and it is developing exponentially each day. This is a fun, exciting, scary, consequential world. I guess we will find out where it takes us…..
