Maxwell’s Kitchen is an independent travel project created by Cody Maxwell in Portland, Oregon.

The focus is fast, firsthand travel: 24-hour city itineraries, island trips, one-bag travel, honest destination guides, trip-planning advice, and stories from actually trying to make ambitious routes work.

Most of the travel starts with a simple question: if you only have a day, a weekend, or a very limited amount of time, what is actually worth doing?

The answer usually involves a lot of walking, an airport at an unreasonable hour, and at least one transportation decision that looked better on paper.

Travel Partnerships & Collaborations

I’m interested in working with destinations, hotels, tourism organizations, travel companies, attractions, and other brands that make sense for Maxwell’s Kitchen.

The best collaborations give me something genuinely useful or interesting to show travelers.

That could include destination coverage, hotels, transportation, unusual experiences, food, tours, travel gear, or something I have not thought of yet.

The important part is that it fits the kind of travel I actually do and gives the audience a reason to care.

Media & Interview Inquiries

Maxwell’s Kitchen also has a large interview archive with musicians, therapists, researchers, business owners, artists, travelers, and people with genuinely unusual stories.

Travel is the focus, but I am still open to the occasional interview or media opportunity when the person or subject is unusually interesting.
