Things to See in Kauai, Hawaii
Planning a trip to Kauai? This episode covers some of the best things to see around the island, including Princeville, Hanalei, beaches, hikes, and what makes Kauai feel so different from the rest of Hawaii.
Kauai is the kind of place that makes you want to pull over every ten minutes. It’s lush, dramatic, full of cliffs, beaches, hiking trails, movie locations, and little stretches of road that feel like they are leading you into another world. I was there for a few days, and even with more than a quick stop, it still felt like there was more to see.

Quick Tips
Kauai is much better with a car.
If you want to hike near Haena State Park, plan ahead because parking is limited.
Princeville is a great jumping-off point for beaches, hiking, and exploring the north shore.
Sleeping Giant is a great option if you want a hike with a big view.
Kauai feels less built-up than some of the other Hawaiian islands, which is a big part of the appeal.
A few days is enough to get a great feel for the island, but you will probably want more time.
