24 Hours in Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza itinerary in one day. This 24-hour Ibiza travel guide shows what to do in San Antonio, how to get from Ibiza Airport (IBZ), where to stay, where to eat, and whether San Antonio is worth it if you only have one day on the island.
Ibiza is famous for nightlife, clubs, beaches, and people who somehow still look normal after staying out until sunrise.
For a short trip, the biggest decision is where to base yourself. Ibiza Town gives you history, Dalt Vila, and easier access to some of the bigger clubs. San Antonio gives you a cheaper base, a big bay, a walkable beach area, and a very direct version of Ibiza nightlife.
For this 24-hour stop, I stayed in San Antonio and kept the day simple: airport to town, hotel, food, beach, nightlife, sleep, and an early walk by the port before leaving.
The One-Day Itinerary
• Land at Ibiza Airport (IBZ)
• Take a taxi or bus to San Antonio
• Check in at The Red Hotel
• Grab lunch at Palapa
• Walk through town and see the Columbus Egg
• Swim at Playa de Sant Antoni
• Walk the waterfront and beach area
• Head out around the West End nightlife streets
• Optional stop near Caló des Moro
• Get late-night food if your decision-making has collapsed
• Take an early morning port walk before leaving
Start in San Antonio
San Antonio, officially Sant Antoni de Portmany, is one of the easiest places to use as a base if you only have 24 hours in Ibiza.
It is not the quiet, hidden, romantic version of the island. This is the loud, affordable, beach-nearby, nightlife-heavy version. That can be great or terrible depending on what you came for.
The useful part is that once you are there, you can walk to the beach, port, restaurants, bars, and nightlife streets without needing to solve a new transportation problem every hour.
That matters on a short trip. Every extra transfer is another tiny punishment you added to your vacation.
Is San Antonio Worth Visiting for One Day?
San Antonio is worth visiting for one day if you want an easy Ibiza base with beach access, nightlife, cheaper hotels, and a walkable town center.
It is probably not the best choice if your main goal is the prettiest historic version of Ibiza. For that, Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila make more sense.
But for a quick overnight stop, San Antonio works. You can land, get across the island, check in, eat, swim, go out, sleep, and leave without trying to see every corner of Ibiza like a person with a clipboard and no joy.
Beach and Waterfront
For a simple beach stop, Playa de Sant Antoni is easy because it is right in town. You do not need a car, scooter, or complicated beach plan. You just walk there and get in the water.
Is it the most dramatic beach in Ibiza? Probably not.
Is it extremely useful when it is hot and you only have one day? Absolutely.
The waterfront is also good for an early morning walk, especially if you want the quieter version of Ibiza before the island fully wakes up and starts making decisions again.
Nightlife in San Antonio
San Antonio nightlife is loud, concentrated, and easy to find.
The West End bar area is the obvious zone if you want a casual, messy, walkable night out. There are also bigger club and sunset spots around town, depending on what you are trying to do and how much money you want to hand over to the island.
If nightlife is the reason you came to Ibiza, San Antonio makes that easy.
If nightlife is not your thing, choose your hotel location carefully. Ibiza has no emotional awareness. It will not quiet down just because you have an early flight.
Getting There
Fly into Ibiza Airport (IBZ). From the airport, you can get to San Antonio by taxi or bus.
In this episode, the taxi from Ibiza Airport to San Antonio was about €40.
The bus option is ALSA Line 9, which connects Ibiza Airport with Sant Antoni. It is cheaper than a taxi, but takes longer and depends on the schedule.
Once you are in San Antonio, this itinerary is mostly walkable.
Stay Here
The Red Hotel in Sant Antoni de Portmany
This worked well for a short stay because the location made everything easy. For a 24-hour Ibiza trip, that matters more than having the most magical room of your life.
Stay somewhere that lets you walk to food, the beach, the port, and nightlife. You are not moving to Ibiza. You are trying to survive one efficient island stop with your dignity mostly intact.
Food + Drinks
Palapa Ibiza was the unexpected food highlight of this stop.
Mexican food on a Spanish island was not exactly the plan, but sometimes the travel gods hand you tacos and a frozen drink and you stop asking questions.
For a one-day trip, do not overcomplicate food. Pick something nearby, easy, and good enough that you do not spend two hours wandering around hungry while pretending you are “exploring.”
